What the heck do I bring in my hospital bag?

For some reason this is one of the most daunting tasks of getting ready for having a baby. You don't want to overpack, you don't want to under pack, in some cases you've never even had a baby before so how the heck should you know what you need for one's first two days of life??? If you're anything like me such a small task stresses you out far too much!So let me help simplify this, honestly, you don't need much! Here are some must haves! (In my opinion)For mama:-face and/or body wipes-deodorant-toothbrush and toothpaste (nothing feels better then brushing your teeth after a long labor or a c-section) Who knows, you honestly might end up not even touching it, but defiantly have it just in case!-a robe! I really loved having my own robe and will be bringing one again, makes you feel somewhat human again.-slippers (some women will do a lot of walking around that hospital to get the baby out, it's nice to have a pair or lightweight small slippers, I defiantly used mine with first baby!)-the most grandma pair of underwear you can find!(the hospital will provide you with mesh undies, which I happened to love, but if you're not a fan, granny panties are such a must. If your having a c section they sell really awesome high wasted undies just for you that won't run on the incision! You better believe these are packed and ready to roll in my bag!)-Nursing bra! You'll want to be as comfy as possibly, but you'll also have all sorts of visitors coming into your room. So find one that is perfect for you!)-Dry shampoo! (Such a must in my opinion!) and a hairbrush while you're at it!-Going home clothes! (I try to wear something in that I can also wear out, saves some space in the bag and you change so fast once you get to the hospital that you barely even wore them anyways!) Make sure it's loose and will still have room for some baby bump because guess what? You still get to go home with a bump! Hooray! Haha If you're having a c-section make sure you find something that will stay far away from your incision! For baby:There is honestly so little you need for baby. The hospital will supply you with little cotton shirts, swaddles, diapers, wipes, all the must haves! So anything you bring for baby is really just extra yet somehow my baby bag is overflowing, I just can't help myself. 😉-Extra swaddle. (I'm bringing my own cute swaddle primarily for picture purposes!)-Headbands! (Well because, come on!) So not necessary though!-Car seat!! This is is actually a little bit important! 🙈-Going home outfit! Something comfy and soft. Don't sweat too hard, they will literally wear it 2 seconds and it's just going to get smashed in the car seat. For daddy:-Comfy clothes for doing a lot of sitting around the hospital room.-Toothbrush and deodorant! He'll want to freshen up at some point too!-If he's going to want to take a shower in the room a small travel size body wash is perfect!(Not much in this category, men are easy!)Extra must haves:-Camera! (And camera charger)-Cell phone and charger!-Snacks! I literally go no where with out snacks! Not must haves, but some people might decide they want it!-Your own pillow from home. (Make sure you don't put a white pillow case on it though because if so its going bye bye with the hospital laundry!)-A tablet or laptop (I'm not sure what other reason you would need these things, but I will be bringing a tablet with some movies for my toddler just in case she's being a good girl and wants to hang out in the room with us)-Something comfy to wear in the hospital for mama. (Totally optional, I think most women probably just wear the hospital gown the whole time. I'm bringing some comfy shorts and a nursing tank top just in case!)-Makeup (again not necessary, but I'm bringing a little bit just in case things get crazy!)I'm sure I'm leaving something out! I'll know for sure when I get to the hospital and start looking for it! And there are so many other random things in my bag too that I didn't list because I'm THE worst over packer!Leave your biggest must have in the comments! I would love to hear them!XO Ashley
